Major Data Breach at The Vascular Experts Exposes Personal and Medical Information of Over 154,000 Patients  
In a significant cybersecurity event, The Vascular Experts, a prominent network of board-certified vascular surgeons, has disclosed a major data breach that has compromised the personal and medical information of more than 154,000 individuals. The breach, which was first detected in early May 2025, has raised serious concerns about the security of sensitive patient data within the healthcare sector.

The incident was first identified on May 7, 2025, when suspicious activity was detected on the IT systems of the Southern Connecticut Vascular Center, which operates under The Vascular Experts' umbrella. According to reports, the breach was the result of a ransomware attack, with the notorious "INC_RANSOM" group claiming responsibility.  
  
These cybercriminals are known for infiltrating networks and encrypting data, demanding a ransom for its release.  
Upon discovering the intrusion, The Vascular Experts immediately launched an investigation, engaging third-party cybersecurity firms to assess the extent of the breach and to secure their network.  
  
The organization also notified law enforcement agencies to assist in the investigation. The investigation confirmed that the attackers had gained access to a trove of sensitive patient information, including patients' full names, addresses, detailed medical treatment information, and health insurance details.
